For the first time since 1960 and just the seventh time since the first election in 1936 the National Baseball Hall of Fame will not have a new group of electees in 2021. Yet because the Class of 2020’s induction was pushed back a year by the coronavirus pandemic, there will still be entrants welcomed into the hallowed Hall this summer.
The Hall of Fame announced Tuesday night on MLB Network that none of the 25 players on the 2021 ballot reached the 75% voting threshold required for entry. Starting pitcher Curt Schilling, in his penultimate year on the ballot, came closest at 71%, or 16 votes shy, then released a letter to the Hall of Fame in which he asked to be removed from next year’s vote.

NEW YORK The baseball Hall of Fame won t have any new players in the class of 2021 after voters decided no one had the merits on the field or off for enshrinement in Cooperstown.
Curt Schilling, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were the closest in voting by members of the Baseball Writers Association of America released Tuesday, and the trio will have one more chance at election next year. It s the first time the BBWAA didn t choose anyone since 2013.

Hall Of Fame Class Of 2021 Is Shut Out
For the first time since 2013, the Baseball Writers Association of America did not elect anyone to the Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, the Era Committee has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic meaning there will NO new Hall members for the first time since 1960 according to MLB.com so Yankee legend Derek Jeter and the rest of the class of 2020 that was postponed from last summer will get their time alone on stage at Cooperstown.
With Shilling, Barry Bonds, and Roger Clemens being left out, Derek Jeter and Larry Walker from the BBWAA ballot, and Ted Simmons and the late Marvin Miller from the Modern Baseball Era committee vote won t have to share the stage at Cooperstown this summer, which honestly seems right to me. Jeter and Walker have never been a part of any accusations or controversy. So them being forced to wait a year just for cheaters and possibly the most politically incorrect man in baseball doesn t seem right. At least now the foc
