College Station Police investigating after two people found dead in motel

COLLEGE STATION, TX â College Station Police officers are investigating after responding to an open door call at a Days Inn and finding two men deceased on December 22, 2020.
Three people have been arrested in relation to the Days Inn investigation.
In a tweet, CSPD said they responded to an open door call just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday at a motel near Texas Avenue and Southwest Parkway.

Included in the departmentâs reports Dec. 6-12 were these incidents:
Dec. 6 - Attempted vehicle theft with a gun implied to the owner during a robbery on the 5300 block of West 16th Street.
- Vehicle theft on the 1500 block of Park Place Boulevard.
- Vehicle theft on the 5300 block of West 16th Street.
- Storage unit burglary on the 3900 block of Meadowbrook Road.
- House fire on the 2900 block of Hillsboro Avenue South.
- Threats and theft from a store on the 8900 block of Highway 7. A criminal complaint has been issued.
Dec. 7 - Weapon violation on the 3000 block of Lynn Avenue South.

The would-be developer of a 70-unit affordable housing development, adjacent to the Lawrence Shopping Center, hopes to wrap up an application for a use variance before the Lawrence Township Zoning Board of Adjustment next month.
The zoning board held the second in a series of public hearings Dec. 16 on RPM Development LLC’s request for a use variance for its proposed 100% affordable housing development on land off Texas Avenue, at the rear of the Lawrence Shopping Center.
The board ran out of time to complete the application and will listen to additional testimony at its Jan. 20 meeting.
In the first incident, St. Louis Park man has been charged with assault on a police officer.
Derrick Deandre Bailey, 29, has been charged with fourth-degree assault on a police officer, providing a false name of a true person, obstructing the legal process with force, a separate charge of obstructing the legal process and theft.

The incident began when police officers responded to a call about a theft in progress at about 9:30 a.m. Dec. 3 at Cub Foods, 3620 Texas Ave. S. Two individuals told police that a man had attempted to take merchandise out of the store and pushed his phone in the face of one of the individuals who tried to talk to him about the unpaid merchandise.

The most recent Wednesday drive included gift cards donated by Assumption Regional Catholic School in Galloway Township. For 14 years, Assumptionâs Student Council has worked to identify students of families in need at Texas Avenue to help them pay for gifts. This year, the council raised more than $1,000 in gift cards for 50 families.
Texas Avenue, with the help of Atlantic Cityâs God Is Reaching Out Ministries and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, also gave out coats and about 100 turkeys. For 15-year-old Christiaan Junne, the weekly drives have been a blessing, as his motherâs been out of work with an injury.
