Tricare Dental Premiums Increasing Soon

$104.83 Tricare Dental coverage beneficiaries who do not pay via military payroll payment need to ensure that their payment amounts are adjusted to the new rate. If payments are not paid on time, you may be disenrolled from the Tricare Dental program. Once disenrolled, you are ineligible to re-enroll for 12 months. In addition to monthly premiums, Tricare Dental coverage has cost-shares for many services, ranging from 0% to 50%. There are also annual maximum payment limits of $1,300 per year per person for regular services, and $1,200 per year per person for services related to accidents. There is a $1,750 lifetime maximum per person for orthodontic benefits.

AfterMath is a service, not a business

Print Edition: October 31, 2012 I’ve been thinking all semester about how awesome AfterMath is. UFV has had a student pub on campus for years and years, but this is only the second year in its current form. Despite the fact that it always seems to be hopping, SUS announced this month that AfterMath has hit its threshold deficit of $60,000 and its future is in jeopardy. It’s only slated for $80,000 total for the entire 2012/2013 school year, so the fact that it’s run through 75 per cent of that budget barely halfway through the fall semester is worrisome to say the least.

Mental health, the pandemic and the University of Calgary

Here at the University of Calgary, the Campus Mental Health Strategy (CMHS) is responsible for developing and furthering the mental health promotion and prevention agenda through its 28 recommendations divided into six focus areas. In an interview with the Gauntlet, Dr. Andrew Szeto, Director of the CMHS, says that the Strategy takes a “whole campus approach everybody is included.” This includes not just students but faculty, staff and postdoctoral scholars as well. In the face of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions, many services have had to adjust, however Szeto states that “we’ve pivoted very well […] and switched to a format that is more conducive for students, faculty and staff to access.” In terms of the effects that the pandemic has had on mental health, Szeto states that due to social isolation and lack of connections “the pandemic has affected our mental health negatively we can’t deny that,” but he also suggests silver linings.
