TfL has started construction work on a new 4.7-kilometre upgraded cycle route in southwest London.
The route is the next stage of TfL’s trial upgrades along the existing Cycle Superhighway 8 (CS8) route and will connect to a section delivered last year between Chelsea Bridge and Lambeth Bridge in central London. These changes are being delivered as part of TfL’s emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Work between Queen’s Circus and Wandsworth Town Centre will start today, 22nd February, and will include:
– Widening of cycle lanes on Battersea Park Road and light segregation in some sections to improve safety for people cycling, as well as extending advanced stop lines at junctions. Battersea Park Road will also be a 20mph zone to improve general traffic safety

Many prominent landmarks in London, such as St Paul s Cathedral, the Monument to the Great Fire of London, the Tower of London, The Palace of Westminster, and others are visible from key locations around the city. St Paul s Cathedral, for instance, is visible from across the South Bank of the Thames as far away as Richmond Park. Although topography certainly plays a part here (St Paul s Cathedral being located at the highest point of the city), the unobstructed views that some of London’s greatest buildings enjoy is certainly no accident.

Her milestone birthday was celebrated in style, first with family and friends and then with the planting of a tree in her honour. Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said it was fitting that a tree would represent the milestone for Mrs Goldsmith, who had dedicated almost 60 years to the Japanese art of arranging flowers. Mildred is currently honoured as a Professor of Ikebana and she has achieved the highest awards possible in the art, Cr Seymour said.
