ZWINGLE, Iowa – A federal fugitive who had been on the loose for a year was finally arrested Wednesday afternoon in eastern Iowa.
The U.S. Marshals Service says Untavious Davenport, 39 of Illinois, was apprehended near Zwingle, a community just south of Dubuque. Law enforcement had been looking for Davenport since he was indicted in June 2020 by a federal grand jury in Missouri for conspiracy to distribute heroin and fentanyl.

A vehicle pursuit through Dubuque County ended near Farley on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says around 1:30 pm, their deputies along with the Peosta Police Department spotted a vehicle that matched a description to a vehicle involved in a theft at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Dubuque.
Peosta Police tried making a traffic stop, but the vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit ensued. The Sheriff’s Office says stop sticks were successfully deployed around the Epworth area and the vehicle came to a stop just west of Farley.
The driver, 38-year old Nathan Cross of Clinton, was taken into custody without incident. Cross faces numerous charges, including eluding, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating while intoxicated by drug or alcohol, theft of a motor vehicle and theft of license plates, as well as two Dubuque County warrants, one out of state warrant, a warrant out of jurisdiction and numerous traffic violations.
