While Pride festivals worldwide were cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Auckland Pride was one of the last to go ahead before the world locked down. Now it looks to be one of the first to return in all its glory, with more than 200 events taking place throughout the month of February. Pride director Max Tweedie, who became involved with the festival after the restructuring of the board in 2018, said he wanted to create a festival where money wasn’t a barrier for anyone in the rainbow community.
TWO well-known Enniskillen clerics have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination. Dean Kenneth Hall, of St. Macartin’s Cathedral, and Monseigneur Peter O’Reilly, of St. Michael’s Parish, Enniskillen received their Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine jabs last week. Both serve as chaplains for the South West Acute Hospital, with Dean Hall serving as the Church of Ireland chaplain, and Monseigneur O’Reilly serving as the Roman Catholic chaplain. Monseigneur O’Reilly received his first jab last Thursday at the Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen. Moore man charged with child sexual abuse
A Moore man faces four felony counts of child sexual abuse in Cleveland County District Court.
Timothy Matthew Aker, 42, was charged Dec. 29 after he allegedly touched the privates of a now 16-year-old girl over a three-year period.
According to a court affidavit, an Oklahoma City officer began investigating the case Dec. 4. During a forensic interview, the girl said the sexual abuse started when she was around age 13. While she was in gymnastics, Aker would begin rubbing her legs, then move up until he reached under her shorts.
During the forensic interview, the most recent event that she cited was in August, when she was sitting on the couch under a blanket next to Aker. Aker allegedly reached under the blanket and touched her privates. She also said Aker had massaged her chest, kissed the inside of her legs and performed oral sex on her at other times.

A man who strangled his mother and bludgeoned her partner to death with a hammer, a child rapist, drug gangs, and another male who murdered a cyclist during an attack with a knuckleduster, were among those given the longest jail sentences in 2020 in and near Lincolnshire.
Outside of England, the man who strangled former Lincoln student Grace Millane to death in New Zealand, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 17 years jail time earlier this year. He was named as Jesse Kempson earlier this month after a New Zealand court order banning his identification was lifted.
