Windle slated for arraignment  - The Martha s Vineyard Times

The Martha s Vineyard Times Oak Bluffs resident Jeffrey S. Windle is scheduled for arraignment in Edgartown District Court on June 25 on charges that stem from a fraudulent check. The arraignment date comes after a determination of probable cause by Edgartown Clerk-Magistrate Liza Williamson on March 25.  The charges against Windle have increased in number and severity since his apprehension by members of a U.S. Marshal’s Office task force in February. According to a Feb. 18 police report, Windle was originally charged by Tisbury Police with larceny over $1,200 and larceny by check after he allegedly tried to acquire real estate with an invalid $2 million check. Windle previously served time for embezzling millions of dollars. The Martha s Vineyard Times Island police implicit bias training set for May Training will be led by Chicago-based Hillard Heintze. An implicit and unconscious bias training course for Island police is set to take place in May. Members of the Island’s six police departments will engage in an implicit and unconscious bias training May 4, 5, and 6. The training will be conducted on-Island by Hillard Heintze, a security risk management team based in Chicago. Originally scheduled for November, Island police chiefs moved the training to the spring amid COVID-19 concerns. The Martha’s Vineyard Diversity Coalition received a $25,000 grant to fully fund the training sessions, which were prompted by the recent spate of tragic African American killings during police procedures across the country.

Film and television stuntwoman Kim Washington Longino, a.k.a. Kym Washington Longino, came before Edgartown District Court Judge Benjamin Barnes via Zoom Monday for a motion hearing seeking to suppress evidence in her ongoing drinking and driving case.  Longino was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a Tisbury Police stop on July 24.
