(UW ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS) MADISON â A hat trick by national scoring leader and Hobey Baker Award candidate Cole Caufield, the No. 5 Wisconsin menâs hockey team (17-8-1, 15-6-1 1-1-0 Big Ten) shutout the Ohio State Buckeyes (6-17-1, 6-16-0 0-2-0 Big Ten) by 7-0 score in its final home game of the season.
Caufield opened the scoring for the Badgers at 11:48 of the first period with his 20th goal of the season. On a feed from Ty Emberson and Linus Weissbach, Caufieldâs initial shot was blocked by an OSU defensman, but he stuck with it to give the Badgers a 1-0 lead.

MADISON, WI (WSAU) â The # 5 Wisconsin mens hockey team topped Ohio State 2-1 in overtime on Friday night at LaBahn Arena.
Dylan Holloway had two power-play goals including the game winner 42 seconds into the OT. Cole Caufield had two assists.

The #1 ranked Wisconsin womens hockey team was upset by #7 Minnesota-Duluth 4-2 Friday night in Duluth.
Badger goals went to Nicole LaMantia and Brette Pettet.
The Badgers had beaten the Bulldogs 17 straight times dating back to Nov of 2016.
The two teams will play again today at 2pm. Whoever wins takes home the WCHA title.
