City To Approve Prairie Dog Funding for UJ Stormwater Project

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public Works Committee made the motion to approve using some of the Prairie Dog Funding received for the University of Jamestown stormwater project. The funding is part of House Bill 1066 to allocate money to cities in non-oil producing counties for “essential infrastructure projects.” Jamestown Mayor Dwaine Heinrich reported that the city had received $2.5 million in funding for such projects. The project would assist in financing the project as part of the Taylor Stadium renovation. City Engineer Travis Dillman says they’re working on design and will hope to have it designed and bid by February.

Jamestown City Council considers road projects

Written By: Keith Norman | × The Jamestown Public Works Committee put street work in the Mill Hill area at the top of its wish list for work by the North Dakota Department of Transportation. The committee put two projects for the area on the State Transportation Improvement List. The Jamestown City Council will give final consideration to the list at its Jan. 4 meeting before submitting to the state. One project would do a major rehabilitation of Highway 52, also known as U.S. Highway 281, from the James River bridge to the area of Wilhelm Chevrolet Buick GMC. Along with rebuilding the road, sidewalks would be added to the area. The cost for that portion of the project is estimated at $3.2 million and would be split between federal and state agencies with no local costs.
