PERRYSBURG, Ohio In March of 2020, Abbey Mackay s life changed forever. She was 18, finishing her junior year at Penta Career Center and excited to be a future firefighter. Pre-diagnosis, I didn t have any symptoms whatsoever. The only thing I had was a lump in my armpit that hurt, but it wasn t too bad. But, it did hurt and I thought it was a pulled muscle from my training, Abbey Mackay said.

TROY, N.Y. â Fire Chief Eric McMahon provided an update on the fatal fire that happened in the early morning hours of April 25, on 4th Street in Troy.
According to McMahon, in addition to the 20 people who were displaced, Connor White, 7, of Troy and Waterford, died. The autopsy revealed that his death was caused by the inhalation of heat and the products of combustion.
McMahon explained investigation revealed that the fire originated on the first floor of 388 Fourth Street and spread north to the two-story duplex of 384 and 386 Fourth Street and south to 390 Fourth Street. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
