Washington signing linebacker Kendricks to bolster defense

Washington is signing veteran linebacker Mychal Kendricks off the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad to boost a defense that has struggled in the first half much of the season. Agent Douglas J. Hendrickson confirmed the move to The Associated Press on Monday, less than 24 hours after Washington lost 20-15 to Seattle to snap its winning streak at four. Kendricks, 30, hasn’t played this season but has 103 games of NFL experience and won the Super Bowl with Philadelphia three years ago. Washington was missing starting linebackers Cole Holcomb and Kevin Pierre-Louis and lost reserve Shaun Dion Hamilton to injury against Seattle, and their status for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers aren’t clear. Washington can clinch the NFC East title with a victory and a New York Giants loss to Baltimore.

Pregame Breakdown: Seattle

Pregame Breakdown: Seattle The bigger they are, the harder they fall. That s how I felt going into the Steelers game. Now, riding a four-game winning streak, I feel like Washington is the team due to fall. I realize it s irrational, but being a Washington fan sets you up to not expect big win streaks. This is uncharted territory for a fan base that hasn t seen consistent winning in a while. So now, without even looking at specifics I m setting up for the disappointment of losing. Let s see if we can change that. Washington was essentially handed a winning formula by the Giants when they beat Seattle in Week 13. Due to the mediocre-to-bad Seahawks defense, what any team looking to beat Seattle needs to do is shut down the offense. In a sense, defensively at least, the Football Team needs to follow a similar game plan to the Steelers game. Both Seattle and Pittsburgh have multiple weapons outside and perform worst against an unrelenting pass rush. Though Big Ben prefers the short,

Washington Roster Moves: Deshazor Everett to IR, RB Lamar Miller signed from Bears practice squad Washington adds more depth at RB Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports It was reported on Wednesday that the Washington Football Team was signing RB Lamar Miller from the Chicago Bears practice squad. Today the team made that move official. Miller has to go through COVID-19 protocols and won’t be available for Sunday’s home game against the Seattle Seahawks. Miller will be available for next week’s game against Ron Rivera’s former team, the Carolina Panthers, if he passes the necessary tests. Washington has a big need at RB due to Antonio Gibson’s turf toe injury that threatens to keep hi out for several weeks. Washington had two RBs on their active roster(J.D. McKissic and Peyton Barber) and two on their practice squad(Javon Leake and Michael Warren II) before Miller’s signing. Washington also placed a waiver claim for former Cleveland Browns RB Dontrell Hilliard, but he was

Does Washington already have its long-term answers at safety?

Does Washington already have its long-term answers at safety? By Sinan Yurday on Dec 18, 2020, 5:28am EST + Safety is a position at which Washington has failed to find any kind of long-term solutions at. We all thought Landon Collins would be the answer at strong safety, but his play has deteriorated, especially in coverage, since he was signed. Following the exits of Montae Nicholson and Sean Davis, it was the responsibility of Troy Apke to hold the free safety spot. By Week 15, neither Apke nor Collins is starting. Following some dismal play in the first few weeks, Collins was injured and placed on IR for the rest of the season. Apke was relegated to the bench after some equally poor play.
