Winnebago County Board expected to approve a mystery development

CHERRY VALLEY A commercial development deal in excess of $20 million could be approved Thursday by the Winnebago County Board. Because of a non-disclosure agreement between the county and developer Mark Goode of Venture One Real Estate the name of the business has not been disclosed.  The development, dubbed Project Sawgrass, is described by County Board Chairman Joe Chiarelli as an e-commerce business that will occupy acres of land on the north side of Baxter Road between Maggio Truck Center and XPO Logistics in the Rock 39 Industrial Park, a tax increment finance district. The development, which features a 141,360-square-foot warehouse, was unanimously approved last week by the County Board s Economic Development Committee.
