Singapore’s office rents have a long way to go before matching Hong Kong’s, even after half a dozen of mainland China’s largest technology behemoths piled into the city state in recent months to set up their regional hubs, analysts said.
The average monthly rent for Singapore’s grade A office space may drop by 6 per cent this year to $9.01 (US$6.72) per square foot, following the 10 per cent plunge in 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic crimped businesses and forced many to postpone their expansion plans, according to data by Cushman & Wakefield.

SINGAPORE: The muted collective sales market could see a revival in the second half of next year, as developers turn to the private residential scene to feed a growing appetite for land, according to property analysts.
This comes as the property market has remained resilient in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and consequent economic uncertainty, said analysts.

Just two en bloc deals totalling S$77.2 million have been inked so far this year, according to Mr Wong Xian Yang, an associate director of research at property firm Cushman & Wakefield.

SINGAPORE: A new type of public housing with elderly-friendly features and subscription to care services would be an effective way to fulfil the different needs of seniors under one roof, experts told CNA on Monday (Dec 14).
It was announced last week that the Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats in Bukit Batok, known as Community Care Apartments, target home buyers aged 65 and above who want to live on their own but receive care if needed.
