First Church of Sandwich Rev. Tina Walker-Morin turns 40 years old soon and she is celebrating by starting a crowdfunding campaign to raise $40,000 for repairs to the steeple of the church. Her birthday is August 8 and she started the GoFundMe campaign on June 30, giving her 40 days to raise $40,000 by the time she turns 40. Due to structural issues with the building, particularly the steeple, the congregation has not been able to meet in the sanctuary. Instead, services are held in the parking lot, the fellowship halls, and in the garden space. Ms. Walker-Morin said that if the church is able to raise $40,000, it will help with the much-needed repairs to the nearly 200-year-old church.
