Simba suffers controversial blow ahead of Kaizer Chiefs CAF Champions

May 10, 2021 - 03:03 pm By Staff Reporter Simba SC have suffered a major blow ahead of their CAF Champions League quarter-final against Kaizer Chiefs, head coach Didier Gomes has admitted. The Tanzanian Premier League champions were due to face their Dar es Salaam rivals Yanga SC on Saturday but the game was postponed in controversial fashion. Initially, the match was scheduled to be played from 17:00 but was moved to 19:00 by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) which Yanga duly ignored. The club stated that it went against league rulings and were the only side to pitch for the warm-up on the originally scheduled time while match officials and Simba weren t in attendance as fans flocked to the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
