The release of “Permission to Dance” has helped K-pop superstars BTS achieve new records on Billboard charts.
“Permission to Dance,” released on July 9 in the “Butter” CD single album, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the July 24-dated chart.
This is BTS’ eighth straight week to rule the Hot 100 after “Butter” reigned on the chart for seven weeks starting from June 5 chart to July 17.
In its Hot 100 debut, “Permission to Dance” accumulated 15.9 million US streams and 1.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 140,100 downloads as of July 15, based on MRC Data, which provides Billboard with music data.
According to Billboard, BTS emerged as the fourth artist to have at least four No. 1 debuts on the Hot 100 after Ariana Grande, who has five, and Justin Bieber and Drake who have four each.
