Hopkinton Select Board OKs naming of Hoyt Way for Marathon legends

HOPKINTON A street near downtown will be named for Boston Marathon legends Dick and Rick Hoyt. The newly titled Hoyt Way is part of the Hopkinton Village Center residential development between 25 and 25 Main St. On Tuesday, the Select Board voted unanimously to approve developer Chuck Joseph s request. Dick Hoyt, who pushed his son Rick who has cerebral palsy through 32 Bostons and more than 1,000 other races, died on March 17 at age 80 in his Holland, Massachusetts, home. He crossed the finish line for the last time in 2014. The original suggested name was Hoyt s Run, but it became Hoyt Way after input from the Hoyt family.
