Political newcomer plans to challenge Rep. Lloyd Doggett in Democratic primary

With about nine months to go until next year’s primary elections, a San Antonio native says he will challenge U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett to be the Democratic candidate representing Texas’ 35th congressional district.
David Anderson, Jr., who has most recently held managerial positions at Jackson Hewitt Tax Service and the AT&T Center, will officially launch his campaign later this month, according to a Tuesday news release. Anderson, 29, is currently studying public health at Texas State University, his website states.
