Guy Barnett,Minister for Resources Tasmania will have expanded geotechnical testing capabilities, thanks to a $2.4 million upgrade to the Mineral Resources Tasmania Core Library at Mornington. This will mean more of the scientific analysis work that goes into both managing our natural resources and growing the sector can happen right here in Tasmania rather than going offshore. Tasmanian construction company Fairbrother has been awarded the contract to upgrade the Library, which will combine laboratory facilities, currently spread across two sites, and provide an upgraded and expanded state-of-the-art facility for geoscientific and analytical functions, which will better serve both Government and industry needs.
