Shopper allegedly slipped at Dollar Tree due to roofing work leak

BELLEVILLE A woman is suing Dollar Tree, the shopping center owner and a roofing contractor after she allegedly slipped and fell on liquid that had pooled from roofing work.  Erica Steele filed a complaint Dec. 3 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dollar Tree Stores Inc., Dollar Tree Inc., Shiloh Place Shopping Center, Safeway Group Inc., S.M. Roofing LLC and Saul Martinez, alleging premises liability.  Steele alleges in her complaint that she was at the Dollar Tree Store on Camp Jackson Road in Cahokia on Dec. 31, 2018, when she allegedly she slipped and fell on a liquid located in the store. As a result, she claims she suffered bodily injuries including injuries to her shoulder and neck. Steele further claims she required medical treatments from hospitals and physicians and suffered impaired mobility and emotional distress.
