Situated atop the 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington, the non-profit Mount Washington Observatory (MWO) operates a weather station that has been gathering weather data around the clock since 1932. Using human measurement and verification, it has amassed one of North America s longest-running climate records. Known as the Home of the World’s Worst Weather, Mount Washington is known for its erratic weather and holds the record for highest measured wind speed not associated with a tornado or tropical cyclone.

Friday, March 12, at 1 p.m. for an important discussion about housing rights and options for people sixty years of age and older. Andrew Bardetti, an attorney with South Coastal Counties Legal Services’ Senior Law Project, will share information about tenant and homeowner rights as well as alternative housing options, such as nursing home and assisted living facilities.
South Coastal Counties Legal Services (SCCLS) is a private, non-profit law firm and is the principal provider of free civil legal assistance to low-income and poor individuals, families, elders, and the disabled throughout Southeastern Massachusetts including Cape Cod and the Islands. Mr. Bardetti specializes in the areas of housing, benefits, and healthcare law.

Thursday, February 11 at 6:30 p.m. to hear Kate Donovan, Garden Coach from Blackstone Valley Veggie Gardens, as she discusses everything you always wanted to know about raised beds, including how to build, fill, site and plant them.
Kate Donovan helps clients grow food through lectures, garden planning, soil testing, tilling, and building raised beds. She’s the founder of a 69,000-member Facebook gardening group called “Vegetable, Fruit, Herbs and Flower Gardening.” Kate maintains seven extra-long raised beds, considers her home her horticulture laboratory, and tries new varieties and techniques every year.
