The Arizona Cardinals added depth to the tight-ends room Tuesday, announcing that they signed Ross Travis. The move gives the Cardinals seven tight ends on the roster, three of whom are rookies.
Travis has 25 NFL games under his belt and seven starts since he made his debut in Week 1 of the 2016 season. He started out on the Kansas City Chiefs and also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and most recently on the New York Jets during the 2020 season. Last year, he played in only one game and had 10 total snaps, seven of which were on special teams. He was inactive for six games and became an unrestricted free agent in March.
Will Maxx Williams be in for an expanded role on the offense this season?

The Arizona Cardinals went into the main free agency period and the draft with a supposed need at tight end after Dan Arnold signed with the Carolina Panthers this offseason but came out with none.
They added N.C. State’s Cary Angeline and Cincinnati’s Bruno Labelle as undrafted free agents. The Cardinals also added Austrian tight end Bernhard Seikovits from the International Player Pathway program.

Pretty much every Cardinals’ fan I have talked to over the past five to six years has expressed his/her doubts about Steve Keim’s abilities as an NFL GM. By now, all avid Cardinals’ fans are well.
Five veteran free agents the Cardinals should consider signing
Tight end and cornerback are still the biggest needs that must be addressed

The 2021 NFL Draft is over and the Cardinals still have quite a few holes on the roster that they must fill.
Tulsa’s Zaven Collins and Purdue’s Rondale Moore are the Cardinals’ top two draft selections this year but they were chosen based on them being the best players available on their board and not necessarily filling positions of need.
Cornerback by far was the position that many thought would be addressed by General Manager Steve Keim earlier in the draft but he was still able to trade up for Florida’s Marco Wilson in the fourth-round and selected Central Florida’s Tay Gowan in the sixth-round.
