Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle Price makes speech on International Women s Day

Ms Doyle Price said: May I first say how nice it is to see so many men contributing to the debate this year? That has not always been the case in previous years, but the fight for equality for women is as much their fight as it is ours, and I am grateful for their support. We should all be champions of equality. I was driving home last evening when the news about the arrest in the case of Sarah Everard was breaking. I was listening to the radio and a gentlemen journalist expressed his horror at the report that 97% of all women aged between 18 and 24 had experienced some degree of sexual assault or sexual harassment. I do not think that figure will come as a surprise to any woman in this room, because we spend all our lives dealing with the reality that some men objectify us and behave as sexual predators. It is so sad that it takes such a horrendous case as the one we are living through at the moment to bring that home, but this has become normalised. That is why I make no apology

Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle Price speaks out for women leaving prison

Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle Price speaks out for women leaving prison Ms Doyle-Price said: “It is a pleasure to serve under your chairmanship, Sir Charles, and to follow Carolyn Harris. I agree with every word she said. There are some people who, when they come to this place, like to play to the gallery, and there are some who come to do the right thing. The substance of this debate is one where we need to make sure we do the right thing, because the measure of a civilised society is how it treats its most vulnerable people. Many colleagues on my side of the House have a very “Hang ’em and flog ’em” approach to criminal justice locking people up and throwing away the key. There is a place for that. However, many people who end up in our criminal justice system or in custody are themselves some of the most vulnerable people, and they are symptoms of state failure. That is particularly true of women prisoners. As we all know, quite often people who have been

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, which police forces record the (a) sex and (b) gender of perpetrators of sex offences.

Discrimination Lawsuit Says Page Blocked Black Commander s Bid For Police Chief

St. Louis County Executive Sam Page (left) and St. Louis County Lt. Col. Troy Doyle. In one conversation, Page told Doyle he was getting “push back” regarding the appointment of a Black police chief, the lawsuit alleges. In the fall of 2019, it looked like the fix was in for St. Louis County Lt. Col. Troy Doyle to become the department’s first Black police chief. But it all came crashing to a halt when County Executive Sam Page started having campaign contribution problems, according to a discrimination lawsuit Doyle filed Tuesday. In one conversation, Page told Doyle he was getting “push back” regarding the appointment of an African American chief of police, and that he was “having difficulty pushing this across the finish line,” a phrase he commonly used when referring to Doyle’s appointment to chief, according to the suit.
