Now Weiwuying presents its acclaimed production of Verdi s La Traviata as a beacon of live performance at a time when so many opera houses around the world remain sadly silent. Weiwuying welcomes you to join us in celebrating not only Verdi s great work, but the magic and importance of live opera itself. Performances will take place on March 18 and 19 at 19:30 and March 20 and 21 at 14:30.

American conductor Kevin McCutcheon died from Covid-19 02/02/2021 American conductor Kevin McCutcheon, died in Berlin on Monday night at the age of 66 as a result of a Covid 19 infection, Deutsche Oper in Berlin announced. A native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he had joined the Deutsche Oper as a repetiteur under then artistic director Götz Friedrich at the age of 30. Since then he had studied roles with soloists there and was responsible for productions of children’s and youth music theater and contemporary opera. He has also been a guest conductor with the major Berlin orchestras, and has also worked abroad.

Share An American conductor, Kevin McCutcheon has died from COVID-19 at the age of 66, the German Opera (Deutsche Oper) in Berlin said on Monday. The conductor, who over decades came to shape the sound of the German Opera, died during the night. McCutcheon came to the German Opera at the aged of 30, but was originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, in the United States. In Berlin, he worked with solo musicians and was responsible for productions of the children’s and youth musical theatre as well as contemporary opera.
