The Horned Frogs announced Friday the signings of 6-foot-7 sophomore forward Miller and 6-4 freshman guard Cashius McNeilly, both natives of Scarborough, Ontario. They join an incoming class of eight that also includes a top junior college center but no high school signees.

TCU adds former Texas Tech and top Texas prep player Peavy Follow Us Question of the Day     By - Associated Press - Tuesday, April 20, 2021 FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - TCU has added transfer guard Micah Peavy, the 2020 Texas high school Class 6A player of the year who started 25 games for Big 12 rival Texas Tech as a freshman this past season. Peavy is at least the fourth Division I transfer who has joined the Horned Frogs this spring. TCU said Monday night that Peavy is part of an incoming class with guard Damion Baugh from Memphis, guard Maxwell Evans from Vanderbilt and guard Shahada Wells from Texas-Arlington. The Frogs have also signed Navarro College center Souleymane Doumbia, one of the top-rated JUCO big men.

Good Tuesday morning Memphis, where we re learning more about the newly named police chief and awaiting a pivotal vote in Memphis City Council on the controversial Byhalia Connection pipeline. But first, we re starting with big plans at Shelby County Schools, announced yesterday by Superintendent Joris Ray. SCS wants to reimagine its footprint in Shelby County with a plan that proposes building five new schools and closing about 13 to 15 others, mostly through consolidation. The plan proposes additions to at least 13 existing schools, our Laura Testino reports. Unveiled for the first time in a presentation to district board members Monday, the plan includes phases of work to take place over the next 10 years, through 2031. Capital projects require funding and approval from the county commission, which is scheduled to see the plan during a meeting Wednesday.

It was widely assumed that Peavy would follow Beard to Texas, but as we found out this evening that wasn t the case. The Texas part was right, but Peavy s new school isn t the Longhorns, it s the Horned Frogs. Yes, Micah Peavy is transferring to TCU. The Red Raider faithful let out a collective, Huh? The 6-foot-7 Peavy averaged 5.7 points and 3.1 rebounds for Texas Tech and looked like he was really turning the corner late in the season after working through a lot of his freshmen mistakes in 25 starts as a Red Raider during his true freshman season.
