Indiana is back at Bart Kaufman Field on Friday for a three-game set with Minnesota. Here’s what you need to know heading into the weekend.
Bierman finding his groove
There were a couple of reasons for that.
Tendinitis forced the sophomore right-hander to miss the entirety of IU’s fall ball period in late 2020. It wasn’t anything too serious, but the inflammation in his arm was enough to cause Bierman to fall behind his peers on the throwing schedule and make the early part of the spring more about catch-up, than preparation.

The Huskers will look to continue their winning ways this weekend when they visit East Lansing, Mich., for a three-game series against the Michigan State Spartans (11-15).
The series opener at McLane Stadium is scheduled for Friday at 4 PM (CT) and it will be carried nationally on the Big Ten Network. The series continues on Saturday at 2 PM and wraps up on Sunday at 11 AM.
The Huskers enter the weekend winners in 13 of their last 15 games and continue to hold a 1/2 game lead over the Michigan Wolverines (18-7) for the top spot in the league. Nebraska is 12-5 away from Lincoln this season, including a 7-2 record in true road games.

Inclement weather on Sunday turned what was supposed to be a three-game series into an abbreviated two-game set.
We’ll count it as a sweep all the same.
IU made the most of both of its opportunities to bounce back from last weekend’s forgettable trip to Ohio State, winning back-to-back games against Illinois. The Hoosiers took Friday’s opener, 6-4, before no-hitting the Illini on Saturday, 8-0.
