DANVILLE, Va. – A 54-year-old man has been identified as a person of interest in connection to two robberies and an attempted robbery, according to the Danville Police Department.
Authorities said Donzell M. Coles is currently wanted in Pittsylvania County for breaking and entering and petit larceny.
This comes after police said a man went to the Family Dollar located at 2639 North Main Street, threatened the cashier with a gun and demanded money on Tuesday at 12:25 p.m. According to authorities, while police were still at the scene of this robbery, another robbery took place at Dollar General at 2398 West Main Street at 1 p.m.

DANVILLE, Va. – Danville Police believe the same man was responsible for a pair of armed robberies Wednesday afternoon.
According to authorities, he robbed two Dollar General Stores. The first happened at 12:30 p.m. on North Main Main Street and the second about a half-hour later at the Dollar General on West Main Street.
Police say the man brandished a firearm in both robberies and was seen driving an older model white Buick. The robber is described as a black male with a beard in his late forties or fifties. He was wearing dark colored shorts, a dark shirt, and had a mask covering his nose and mouth. He was possibly driving a white, 4-door sedan believed to be a mid-nineties model Buick.
The house is located on Fairfield Avenue on the south side of town.
Engine 4, from the West Main Street Station, was first to arrive on the scene and reported fire showing from the front window. Search and rescue operations were immediately started as well as a fire attack.
The victim was located and removed from the structure and transported to the SOVAH Health by Danville Life Saving Crew.
The fire was also knocked down very quickly. There was moderate damage to the home.Â
All firefighters on scene did exceptional work while working in the heat. No firefighter injuries reported.Â
The Danville Fire Department responded with four engines, one ladder truck, one safety officer, a command unit and several chief officers. A second alarm engine was initially dispatched due to the report of a victim being trapped.
