MACON, Ga. It s been more than a week since healthcare workers at Central Georgia hospitals received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
13WMAZ was there as many of them received their vaccines. At the time, they said the shot felt just like a flu shot.
So, how are they doing now that the vaccine has had time to get into their system? Well, doctors from Navicent Health, Houston Healthcare and Fairview Park Hospital say their most severe symptom was a sore arm.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. Hospitals in Central Georgia are filling up with COVID-19 patients fast.
They are still feeling the effects of the Thanksgiving holiday, along with people gathering inside as the temperature drops.
On Tuesday, Houston Healthcare had a total of 86 COVID-19 patients. That s not including the Christmas surge they are anticipating next week. We re full. We have pretty much all of our ICU/ICA beds taken up. We have all of the floors where we have COVID patients are full, and the rest of our med surge beds are full as well, said the hospital s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Dan Stewart.
