The legendary King Diamond has just unveiled the details to the all-new
Abigail graphic novel, an adaptation of the concept behind the 1987 album of the same name, co-written by the King himself. A graphic novel based on one of my stories is a dream come true for me, said King Diamond of the upcoming fall release through Z2 Comics. Working with a company like Z2 and the writer Dan Watters, and the graphic artist Damien Worm, is making this project the highest class one could wish for, he continued and noted that the concept has the ability to transcend heavy metal fandom.

Z2 Comics are continuing to launch some absolutely awesome collaborations: they’ve just announced a new graphic novel with King Diamond.
The Danish icon will be co-writing an upcoming graphic novel (for the first time ever) with White Noise Studios writer Dan Watters and October Faction artist Damien Worm – the team working on bringing iconic 1987 album Abigail to life in comic form.
“A graphic novel based on one of my stories is a dream come true for me,” King Diamond enthuses. “Working with a company like Z2 and the writer Dan Watters, and the graphic artist Damien Worm, is making this project the highest class one could wish for. Not just our own fans but any fan of the horror genre will enjoy the darkness and creepiness of this project.
There are many great joys of reading superhero comic books. Absurd situations, operatic conclusions, and soap opera stylings are the bread and butter of the genre. Superheroes can be highbrow, certainly. But they are also simple pleasures.
Sometimes you just want to see Batman punch a ghost. With the special gloves he has. For punching ghosts.
