ULSTER HAVE CONFIRMED that academy second row Cormac Izuchukwu’s season is over after he suffered a torn ACL in his knee.
The 21-year-old, who has impressed for Dan McFarland’s side in recent months, will undergo surgery next week having suffered the injury in the Challenge Cup win over Harlequins.
Ireland 7s graduate Izuchukwu recently signed a new contract with Ulster to keep him with the province through to the summer of 2023.

CORMAC Izuchukwu is to get surgery next week on a knee injury. Izuchukwu suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in Ulster s recent Challenge Cup win against Harlequins.
It is a big blow to the Tullamore man who was rewarded with a new contract recently after settling very well into professional rugby life in the northern province.
The recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament tear varies depending on its severity but it can take up to six months or more.
Izuchukwu had made his senior debut in the win over Glasgow Warriors and his new contract will see him spend on year as a development player before being upgraded to a senior professional contract.
Brisket locators: yea or nay? The concept of a brisket locator emerged as freestall housing grew in popularity for dairy cows. The traditional “brisket board” was, quite literally, a wooden board placed near the front end of a stall to help position cows when they are lying down. Today, brisket locators can be made of wood, concrete, PVC pipes, and other materials.
There are farms that have chosen to forgo the use of brisket locators altogether. That may lead some to wonder if this stall feature still has a place in today’s dairy barns.
Dan McFarland, an agricultural engineer at Penn State University, addressed this topic in a recent Penn State Extension article. His answer to the question of whether or not brisket locators are necessary is, “It depends.”
