Following Nabard Chairman G R Chintala advice urging co-op banks to expedite the process of computerization of PACCs, Uttarakhand Cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat has asked the co-op banks of the state to complete the process of computerization of 670 PACCs sooner than later.
Rawat said this while addressing a meeting attended by Cooperative Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram, officials of Cooperative Department and representatives of State Cooperative Banks and DCCBs held last week virtually.
The Cooperative Minister further added that the 80 percent work of computerization has already been done. “When the computerization work will be fully completed we will invite the Union Agriculture Minister and State Chief Minister to inaugurate it”, underlined Rawat.

NAFSCOB holds virtual meeting; Participants seek moratorium on loan

The apex body of State Cooperative Banks and District Central Cooperative Banks-Nafscob organized its board meeting virtually on Friday in which Nabard Chairman G R Chintala was a special invitee. Besides discussion on several issues pertaining to State Co-op Banks and DCCBs, the representatives of co-op banks wanted RBI to announce yet another round of loan moratorium scheme in the wake of lockdown in different states due to Covid surge.
“There should be an expert committee to address the issues related to Co-operative Banks as was done by the RBI for Urban Cooperative Bank in February 2021”, felt several participants.

While on the study tour to Kerala, the management of Uttarakhand based Co-op Banks visited the Kerala State Cooperative Bank last week. The tour was sponsored by NABARD.
The delegation was led by Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank Chairman Dr Dan Singh Rawat. He invited the office bearers and others of Kerala State Cooperative Bank to visit the Uttarakhand co-ops.
Rawat said our state is the first state where over 670 multipurpose cooperatives will be computerized by May 2021.
