Social Media Asset from the Welcome Back Business Toolkit CITY businesses that have remained closed during a third national lockdown are ready to open, with help thanks to the Salisbury Business Improvement District (BID). From Monday, April 12, city centre businesses will be able to welcome back shoppers to their Covid secure premises. The next step in the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown will permit all non-essential retail and personal care premises such as hairdressers and nail salons to open. Hospitality venues will also be allowed to serve customers outside. Businesses can get through this tough time Over the last three months Salisbury BID has been preparing for the reopening of business and welcome return of visitors.

Too much snark
The March 12 letter âEnergy failureâ was unnecessarily snarky. Yes, you can still use solar panels when thereâs 6 feet on snow on the ground, but what about in the middle of a heavy snowstorm? Whoâs going to stand outside and sweep all the panels?
Nevertheless, I concede, the Texas energy grid failed because of the grid itself, not because of wind turbines. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was wrong to try to blame the problem on âgreenâ energy â it was the failure of his administration and previous Republican administrations to hold their energy supplier liable. And now Texans are having to pay millions for the privilege of thumbing their noses at the feds.

Andy Milton, a Salisbury BID City Ranger, has been cleaning signs, re-painting, and removing signposts from the central car park that are either old or redundant. It follows feedback to the BID from levy payers which identified areas that could be improved ready for the city reopening. Salisbury BID Business Manager, Dan Collins, says: “Now that we have a roadmap out of lockdown we can work towards making our city look its best in time for welcoming visitors back.
