Print Del Mar artist Todd Parker, who also goes by TP The Artist, displayed some of his works at the Michael Seewald gallery on the third floor of Del Mar Plaza on Feb. 25. “Mainly I like to paint on canvas with plaster and acrylic, it’s my main thing,” said Parker, who has lived in Del Mar for about 20 years. “And I never go into a painting knowing what I’m going to do. I don’t even know what color I’m going to start with, I don’t know what’s going to happen, I just let it ride.”

From staff reports Contributed WORKING HARD — Jefferson County native Chad Brown, a graduate of Jefferson County Joint Vocational School and Edison High School, has forged a successful career by operating his own business and later working as a general manager for a larger firm, leading to major projects in the likes of Washington, D.C., and beyond. Most recently, he assisted in adding wireless technology to keep the world connected during the 2021 Presidential Inauguration. Brown, pictured here welding and scaling a telecommunications tower with co-workers, said he was inspired by the knowledge and training he gained in the welding program at JCJVS. He also provided photos of the Capitol Building and White House during work on the project.

(KPLC) -The Ward 6 Fire Department was one of those hit hard by the storms. Even though Hurricane Laura devastated one of their stations, they’re still working to keep the area safe. 2020 was a record year, not just for hurricanes and Covid, but also for emergency responders in Calcasieu Parish. Ward 6 District 1 Fire Chief Todd Parker said they’ve had a record number of calls while the number of responders are at all time low. “The community may just not realize volunteers are needed in the fire service in their area,” said Parker.
