(WCSC) - States will not be allowed to forgo federally mandated standardized tests at the end of this school year, according to the US Department of Education. A letter to state education superintendents said the measure is necessary to safely re-open schools and get students back in classrooms. “To be successful once schools have re-opened, we need to understand the impact COVID-19 has had on learning and identify what resources and supports students need.
