With just VND500,000, Sung Mi Phin went from Ha Giang to Sa Pa in Lao Cai to study English and learn how to make money from tourism.
It was an evening in late 2018 when Sung Mi Phin had a talk with his father before leaving the Dong Van Stone Plateau in Ha Giang province to seek a new way for himself.

international cooperation to
support socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited areas will be extended
to 2025 under a decision signed recently by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
The project will be carried out from 2021 –
2025, with the aim of promoting cooperation in attracting financial assistance,
science and technology and experience from countries, international organisations,
overseas collectives and individuals to invest in
socio-economic development in
ethnic minority and mountainous areas, towards effectively performing the
national target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and
mountainous areas in the 2021 - 2030 period.
By 2025, the project strives to maximize attraction of international
resources, especially non-refundable aid, official development assistance (ODA)

Vietnam has witnessed an overall decline in terms of the number of traffic accidents occurring over the past year, leaving 6,180 people dead and a further 9,959 people injured in such incidents.
However, traffic collisions have still led to a number of catastrophic consequences during the year.
A total of 15 people are killed with an additional 25 injured following a 45-seater bus overturning in the central province of Quang Binh on July 26.
Eight people are killed and seven left injured following a tragic road traffic collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Binh Thuan Province, southern Vietnam, early on July 21.
