At 6pm, February 8, the Ministry of Health announced 45 new locally-transmitted cases of Covid-19 in Vietnam, including 3 each in Quang Ninh and Hanoi, 2 in Gia Lai, 25 in Ho Chi Minh City and 12 in Hai Duong.

Vietnam confirmed nine more Covid-19 community transmissions Thursday evening in Hanoi and four provinces.
Hanoi, the northern Hai Duong Province and the southern Binh Duong recorded one case each, the northern Quang Ninh had two and Gia Lai in the Central Highlands had four, the Ministry of Health said..
The new patients, 1949-1957, are associated with confirmed coronavirus cases in Hai Duong, currently the biggest Covid-19 hotspot in the country with 278 cases.

Vuong Dinh Hue.
During a meeting in Hanoi on February 2, Hue asked agencies
and units to consider the fight against the pandemic as the leading and urgent
task before, during and after the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival while
maintaining production and trade.
He requested reviewing the efficiency of combating the
pandemic from residential areas, villages to the city, and working with units
concerned to improve testing capacity.
Hue asked for tracing F1 and F2 cases more quickly, raising
public awareness of 5K principles and strictly punishing violators of prevention
and control regulations.

Vietnamese citizens in Myanmar warned to pay attention to safety
The Foreign Ministry has directed the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar to keep a close watch on the situation in the host country, while keeping close contacts with local agencies, regularly updating on local information and staying ready to roll out measures to protect Vietnamese citizens if necessary.
The embassy has contacted the Vietnamese community in the country to update on their situation, and to remind them to maintain normal operations.
Vietnamese citizens in Myanmar are warned to avoid travelling far from the areas where they live as well as stay away from gatherings, and pay attention to protecting their own security and safety, especially during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays.
