Budget local industry friendly, say businesses Staff Correspondent 3rd June, 2021 11:55:05 Business sector people have termed the proposed budget for 2021-22 fiscal year ‘local industry friendly’ as it has focused on lives and livelihoods. They said the proposed budget has taken measures to protect local industries, save trade and business and create employment amid the pandemic-hit economic slowdown. Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruque Hassan has termed the proposed budget for the next fiscal year ‘very significant one’ due to the country’s celebrations of 50 years’ of independence and the global pandemic. The BGMEA President said the budget focused more on all the issues related to the lives and livelihoods considering the current situation.

Inclusive budget focuses to economic recovery: DCCI 140 DHAKA, June 3, 2021 (BSS) – Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in its initial reaction for the national budget said that the budget is a big one with an aim to economic recovery and effort to balance between life and livelihood. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today unveiled the national budget for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-2022. The budget for FY2021-22 has been announced with a GDP target of 7.2 percent and inflation of 5.3 percent. In his reaction, DCCI President Rizwan Rahman said the budget is by and large inclusive and pro-people. DCCI President thanked the government for reducing corporate tax both for listed and non-listed companies. It will help boost investment. But he suggested to reduce it at a progressive rate of 2.5% in FY2022-23 and FY2023-24.
