Theft of Honda catalytic converters in Taunton on the rise

PEOPLE in the Taunton area who own a Honda car are being warned to be on their guard. Police in the county town said there has been a rise in the past week in cases of catalytic converters being stolen from vehicles. A spokesperson for Taunton Neighbourhood Policing team said: The thefts are taking place at any time of the day. In the the majority of those cases, the vehicles targeted have been Honda. Catalytic converters are positioned underneath a vehicle and can take less than a minute to cut and remove. They are taken as they contain precious metals such as platinum, palladium or rhodium, which are valuable to metal dealers.

Police investigate graffiti in Farriers Green Park, Monkton Heathfield

Residents complained to police after the graffiti was daubed in Farriers Green Park, Monkton Heathfield. A PCSO was sent to investigate. A post of Taunton Neighbourhood Policing team s Facebook page said: Thank you for your reports regarding the graffiti in Monkton Heathfield and specifically Farriers Green Park. PCSO Tony has been out on his bike making enquiries with regards to this and has contacted the parish council clerk and also Somerset West and Taunton Council with regards to the clean-up and removal of various signage in the locality. If any one has any information as to who may have caused this please contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team.
