As elected members of the Board of Supervisors, we are charged to be the voice of the residents and businesses of Derry Township.
Derry Township is disappointed by the recent actions of the Lewistown Borough Council (LBC) in relation to the Water Authority (MABL). We were under the impression that a Memorandum of Understanding had been brokered to transfer the assets of MABL to a county water authority. Although we were not happy with the amount of money that Lewistown Borough was to profit from this agreement, we were willing to support this plan to allow this vital county-wide resource to be managed by a group that had the interests of all stakeholders represented including the approximately 25% that is contributed by Derry Township. Instead through the actions of LBC, allcommunity voices to the MABL board have been silenced and replaced by members appointed by LBC that either live in or work for the Borough of Lewistown. Credit River Township is being incorporated as a city in Scott County.
It marks the first time since 2015 that a Minnesota township has been promoted to city status, with Rice Lake, which sits just north of Duluth in St. Louis County, being the last.
Credit River Township will formally be recognized as the City of Credit River. An administrative judge granted the incorporation following nearly 15 years of planning that includes zoning, a Metropolitan Council s 2040 plan, planning for urban services and creating a wastewater plan.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP Clinton Township Fire Chief Tim Duncan said a recent announcement of new hires and promotions was a nice thing to celebrate after ten months of pandemic-related uncertainties.
On Jan. 12, in the engine bay of Clinton Township Fire Station No. 4 on Romeo Plank Road, Aaron Schmid was promoted to deputy chief of administration; Ryan Amormino was promoted to lieutenant paramedic; and Stephen Caron was announced as the newest member of the department, sworn in as a firefighter/paramedic.
