SIP MKE, a Mequon wine bar, started as as way to gather friend groups

When Jackie Ertl left a longtime career in law, she wanted to create the space she was always looking to enjoy with her own friends. That meant wine, cocktails and creativity.  She and her husband, Garth, opened SIP MKE, 1505 W. Mequon Road, Mequon, in November 2019. Wine, bourbon, cocktails and craft events all mingle well here.  Ertl’s customers run the gamut from date nights and girls nights to game nights with friends and private parties. Wine and bourbon tastings, pairing events, and DIY classes for painting, knitting and more are all part of the fun. Wine club memberships are available, too, starting with a three-month enrollment.
