Florida GOP eases path for Trump to pursue casino license Jonathan O Connell, Lori Rozsa © Provided by The Washington Post Florida legislators approved a legislative package Wednesday that will dramatically expand gambling in the state and sets the stage for former president Donald Trump to pursue a casino license at his Doral golf resort. The legislation includes a 30-year compact with the Seminole Tribe of Florida, negotiated by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), a Trump ally. The compact includes a provision barring the tribe from interfering should the state issue a gambling license to a facility more than 15 miles “in a straight line” from the tribe’s Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
Fried addressed the issues in a short social media video but also urged people not to panic and rush to the pump.
“Don’t hoard gas and don’t form long lines at gas stations,” she said. “Fuel is continuing to move around our state.”

But the message hadn t stopped the long waits at many North Florida stations come Tuesday morning. And the run on gas appeared to be spreading elsewhere.
The senior petroleum analyst with Gas Buddy said the gas station navigation app had determined that 2.7% of stations in the Sunshine State were without fuel.
