Jan 27, 2021 The National Weather Service confirmed that an official tornado touched down shortly after 11:42 a.m. local time before heading east. Over 500 power outages where reported. A twin engine aircraft flipped over at the Tallahassee Airport and there was damage done to some of the private hangers. The Tallahassee International Airport was also temporarily closed for damage assessment, and no injuries were reported.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Emergency crews are assessing the damage at Tallahassee International Airport after a tornado swept through late this morning.
Radar showed a tornado on the ground around 11:45 a.m. approaching the airport, which is south of the city and the campus of Florida State University. Photos shared later by city officials show damage to hangars at the airport and at least one small plane flipped upside down.
The National Weather Service office for Tallahassee is located at the airport but did not suffer any damage, according to a tweet. The radar was down due to a communications issue, not tornado damage.

In the winter months, Dailey said, the city normally sees temperatures around 30 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. According to The Weather Channel, the forecast in Tallahassee for Wednesday was a high of 70 degrees and a low of 41 degrees Fahrenheit.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed late Wednesday afternoon that the suspected tornado that struck Tallahassee at 11:43 a.m. is a high-end EF-0 tornado.
An EF-0 tornado has winds of 65-85 mph.
A damage assessment continues and more information will be available Wednesday night or Thursday. The available information remains preliminary.
Earlier Wednesday, the airport was temporarily shut down.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A line of severe storms that swept through Tallahassee and spawned a probable tornado that damaged the airport a midday is continuing to move east.
A tornado warning was issued that includes White Springs and Winfield until 2:45 p.m. but was allowed to expire with no apparent damage as the strong front moved east toward the Jacksonville metro area.
Just after 3 p.m., a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Orange Park, Macclenny and Jacksonville until 4:15 p.m.
