/ HERC Executive Director Barbara Goldstein poses with a copy of the book that inspired the butterfly garden concept. There is a small yard in front of the Holocaust Education Resource Council (HERC) office near Tallahassee Community College. That yard is now attracting a lot of attention from butterflies. HERC Executive Director Barbara Goldstein said the idea came from a book containing poems and pictures created by children being held in the Nazi s Terezin Concentration Camp. Butterflies are free to fly away and during the time of the Holocaust these children in the concentration camps were not free. So this is such a meaningful time and message to use for education.
