According to officials, Bastiste was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Officials said investigators learned that Bastiste lived at the apartment and Baldwin was visiting.
Based on the investigation, homicide detectives believe there was a disturbance inside the apartment between Baldwin and Bastiste that escalated to the point where both began fighting, officials said.
According to officials, investigators believe that Baldwin killed Bastiste during the altercation.

DALLAS - The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that the body found in a Dallas apartment pool was missing 8-year-old Keydall Jones.
Police said officers found a body while searching for Jones Saturday morning, but hadn’t confirmed if it was him, though his family had said it was his body that officers found.
On Friday, police began the search for Jones, who is autistic and nonverbal, after he was reported missing.

Body of Missing 8-Year-Old Boy Found in Dallas Pool: Officials
Officials said the body of a missing 8-year old boy with autism was found over the weekend in Texas in an apartment complex swimming pool.
Keydall Jones, who is non-verbal, went missing on Friday morning, officials told CBS Dallas. He was last seen around 13600 block of Montfort Drive where the body was found in the pool.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner identified the body as the missing child, according to the CBS affiliate.
His family told NBC DFW that he ran off as the family was trying to get him into their car for school.

GARLAND, Texas A woman was found dead and another woman was arrested after a fight at an apartment complex Saturday afternoon, according to Garland police.
Trametria Baldwin, 33, was booked into the Garland Detention Center and faces a murder charge. Her bond is set at $500,000.
Police said that just before 12:30 p.m., they found Lorita Batiste, 57, inside the apartment in the 800 block of La Prada Drive. Batiste had obvious trauma to her body, police said. Baldwin appeared to have been involved in a physical altercation, they added.
Batiste was taken to a hospital, but she was pronounced dead.
