As they prepare for the 2021 season, the Miami Dolphins will be counting on getting significant contributions from their recent draft classes.
That would include tight end Mike Gesicki, a second-round pick in 2018 who has developed into a factor for the Miami passing game.
But exactly where does Gesicki rank among NFL tight ends?
That s just one of the current topics involving Gesicki these days.
GESICKI S PLACE AMONG NFL TIGHT ENDS
Gesicki came in at number 8 among the top 32, which would place him in the top fourth of the league.
That s certainly a respectable spot for Gesicki, who had 53 catches for 703 yards and six touchdowns in 2020 after posting a 51-570-5 line the year before.

The son of Hall of Famer and Pittsburgh Steelers legend Mel Blount, Jibri played basketball in college. He spent two years at Cleveland State before excelling at North Carolina Central. The Pittsburgh native averaged 15.2 points and 7.1 rebounds and was named 2019-20 MEAC Player of the Year with the Eagles.
The Dolphins previously signed Jibri s older brother Akil in 2016. Miami cut Akil before the start of the regular season, and he was similarly unable break through with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017 before briefly playing for the Orlando Apollos in the Alliance of American Football in 2019.
We heard rumblings about 24 hours before the first round that the Cardinals were likely to take Collins, though he was someone expected to go in the mid-to-late 20’s. Could they have traded back and landed him? Maybe. But his versatility combined with that of Isaiah Simmons and Budda Baker make this a tough defense to play against. Moore makes so much sense in the second round, as we still don’t know if Larry Fitzgerald will return. No matter what, he’s a perfect fit to play the slot in their offense. I liked Gowan better than Wilson, so getting him two rounds later saved their score a bit, as Wilson seemed like a bit of a reach. If there’s one thing I would’ve liked to see them do, it was to add a nose tackle seeing as many of them fell much further than expected.
