Lake District brand donates £7,500 to Great North Air Ambulance helicopter appeal

Lake District brand donates £7,500 to Great North Air Ambulance helicopter appeal Herdy donation presentation at Kendal Castle, complete with the new Great North Air Ambulance helicopter flying above. A Lake District brand has donated £7,500 to support the appeal to fund the county’s new air ambulance. Herdy has donated the cash to the Great North Air Ambulance Service after the launch of the new Pride of Cumbria II helicopter last week. The funds were raised from sales of the Herdy Heroes Tea Towel fundraiser campaign, a tea towel designed by Herdy and made in the UK, which honoured and celebrated all the local heroes and key workers who kept people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Herdy themed parties are becoming all the rage

Looking sheepish is proving to be all the rage as a Lakeland brand continues to put a smile on people’s faces. It all started with a sheep – and there can’t be many successful businesses that can say that. But it wasn’t just any sheep, it was a pretty sheep, a cute sheep, a smiley sheep, a Herdwick ‘yow’, as cute as only Herdwicks can be, this one on the Langdale fells. Since then Herdy has become a phenomenon, an icon encapsulating the Lake District, an international brand, a sub-culture permeating people’s body art, weddings, sleep patterns and even new-born babywear – a veritable smiley face emoji with a distinctly Cumbrian twist, bringing joy in turbulent times.
