BUTTE â Health officials want people in Butte to celebrate St. Patrick s Day by getting vaccinated.
This Wednesdayâs vaccination clinic at the Butte Civic Center is for those 60 and older and those 16 years old and up with special medical conditions. Butte has had good participation since vaccinations began in December with about 53 percent of the eligible population vaccinated.
âWe have over 15,000 doses, about 15,400 doses administered today, over 9,000 of those are first doses, we have almost 6,000 people vaccinated with the second dose, so we re doing very well,â said Operations Manager Diane Regan.

From learning online to learning on the frontline more than 120 UMass Lowell nursing students are helping administer COVID-19 vaccines at a mass vaccination clinic in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Together, they have vaccinated more than 25,000 Massachusetts residents. The vaccination site has gone from administering 400 vaccines a day to around 2,000 each day in less than a month. Hospital staff say they ll continue expanding and delivering as many vaccines as they can going forward and students will continue to contribute to the vaccination effort.

Butte moving ahead with more vaccinations despite vaccine shortage

BUTTE â Health officials in Butte will continue their vaccination clinics each Wednesday even though they re not certain how many vaccines will be available.
âRight now the demand is very high and the supply isnât quite high enough yet, itâs getting there, weâre still getting the vaccine every week, weâre just not sure how many vaccines until probably Monday,â said Butte Health Department Operations Director Diane Regan.
Two vaccination clinics have already been held at the Butte Civic Center in which about 1,500 vaccinations have been administered to senior citizens. The last clinic only had half the supply making it a challenge for health officials
