Orange County is set to get its own mass vaccination site after lagging behind most of the state in its percentage of residents who have gotten at least one COVID vaccine shot. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that the state will open 10 additional mass vaccination sites in the coming weeks, including one inside a physical education building at the SUNY Orange campus in Middletown and another at the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz. Cuomo said that growing vaccine shipments from the federal government have enabled New York to expand its network of large-scale distribution sites. The only ones south of Albany in the Hudson Valley so far are two in Westchester County and a temporary set-up that began delivering shots at Marist College in Poughkeepsie on Friday.
