DUBLIN, CA The city of Dublin passed gun storage regulations in December and is now offering free trigger locks to residents.
The city sought to protect kids and other unauthorized gun users from hurting themselves by enacting an ordinance that required guns to be stored in locked containers or disabled with a trigger lock. There is an exception for peace officers and people who are lawfully carrying guns on their person.
More than half of all gun owners surveyed in a 2016 study published in the American Journal of Public Health said they did not lock up all of their guns, according to a report from city staff.
DUBLIN â Hundreds of people attended a candlelight vigil and wrote condolences and prayers on social media this week to pay tribute to Dublin Unified School District (DUSD) Trustee Catherine Kuo, who was struck and killed by a car while distributing food outside at Fallon Middle School.
Kuo, a 48-year-old wife and mother of a son and daughter, died March 24 at Eden Memorial Medical Center in Castro Valley, where she was taken following the morning accident.
“We would like to honor one of our local super heroes in the hopes that remembering her what she cared about and what she lived for will help us all to become in some small measure, local superheroes in our families, neighborhoods and beyond to keep her memory alive as we live out her dreams for a better future,” her family wrote in tribute on the site, gatheringus.com.
Like many others throughout the Tri-Valley, I continue to try to process the horrific news that absolutely shocked us all one week ago: There was a fatal traffic collision at Fallon MS, and the victim was DUSD Trustee Catherine Kuo.
Pleasanton residents with questions about electrical service from East Bay Community Energy are invited to attend a community Zoom webinar next Wednesday (March 17) from 12-1 p.m.
