Jay Moffett (13) died in a swimming accident in a lake in Scarva, Co Down A TEENAGE boy who died in a Co Down swimming tragedy was laid to rest from his home in Scarva yesterday. Jay Moffett (13) got into difficulty while swimming with friends in a lake in the Canal Court area of the Co Down village on Monday. Mourners gathered outside the teenager s home at Scarva Heights for a socially distanced service yesterday afternoon. Most people dressed in either white or light colours, as Jay s family had requested. Friends of the Tandragee Junior High School pupil had raised the alarm after he got into difficulties.

Swimmer dies after being pulled from the sea in Dublin Friday, July 23, 2021 By Jonathan McCambridge, PA A man in his 60s has been pronounced dead after being recovered from the sea at a Dublin beach. Emergency services, including units from Howth Coast Guard, gardai, Dublin Fire Brigade and the National Ambulance Service, attended the scene after a man was spotted unconscious in the water at Dollymount strand on Friday afternoon. A tweet from Howth Coast Guard said: “Dollymount Lifeguards and an Irish Coast Guard unit from Howth were on the Bull Wall today when notified of an unconscious swimmer. “Person was brought to shore and with help from off-duty med personnel CPR was quickly commenced.”
